The so-called “active forms” of B vitamins are the forms that function inside cells. However, in the case of vitamins B1, B2, B5, and B6, these active forms cannot be utilized directly. They must first be broken down by enzymes into their simpler forms. Only these simpler forms can pass through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream and/or enter cells, where they are then converted into their active forms.

For this reason, contrary to some misconceptions, taking the active forms is not advantageous. They are more expensive, do not spare the body any conversion steps, but actually require additional processing — and may even result in lower bioavailability.

We always use the appropriate form of each vitamin, meaning we do not include “trendy” active forms unnecessarily — especially not when they are specifically disadvantageous.

Our product does not contain vitamin B3, as we consider its continuous daily supplementation counterproductive. Therefore, we believe it has no place in a product intended for everyday use. Deficiency is unlikely except in those consuming exclusively refined foods, since a wide range of natural foods contain ample amounts. At the same time, chronic overconsumption may raise concerns. In certain cases supplementation may be beneficial, but even then we recommend it periodically rather than continuously — for example, a few times per month instead of daily.
