As a result, even though we ingest only the oxidized form, roughly equal amounts of ubiquinol and ubiquinone circulate in the body. This conversion is carried out by our antioxidant system. When supported by proper nutrition — for example with adequate vitamin C intake — the body performs this reduction efficiently.
